It’s been said and done but summer is officially here and that of course means switching up your beauty regimen. Summer (especially in Dubai) should be all about “less is more.” Keep makeup to a minimum because no matter how amazing your products are, nothing is a match for this heat and humidity. So a couple of tips:
1. Switch out foundation for tinted moisturizer
If you haven’t already, discard your foundation and replace it with tinted moisturizer. There should be no reason to wear foundation everyday but if you can’t go au naturale, use a tinted moisturizer and embrace your natural beauty. Just make sure to let it absorb for 15-20 minutes before applying anything else.
2. Use a primer
If you have a special event and need to do the whole “done-up” look, make sure to use a primer. This will prevent product from getting into your pores and will allow the makeup to last longer.
3. Blot instead of powder
Translucent powder is usually a godsend but combine it with oil and humidity, and it just turns into a cakey mess. If you need extra coverage/seem to be getting greasy, take blotting wipes to absorb the oil and then *lightly* powder your T-zone if needed.
4. Embrace lip/cheek stains
Instead of powder blush, use a cream blush or cheek stain which will easily last 8 hours. To add a bit of brightness, layer some cream highlighter on the top of the cheek bones. Using the same color as a lip stain will give you a refined and put-together look.
5. Ditch the eye makeup
I love my eyeliners but I already learned my lesson this Friday when I noticed my normally excellent eyeliner had given me racoon eyes. Stick with a waterproof mascara and add a bit of highlighter to the inner corners for the bright-eyed look.
